Zombie Tramp Origins #1

The impossible to find, long out of print original series, in full color for the first time! Revisit the powerful origin story that launched a modern cult classic as high priced Hollywood call girl, Janey Belle, gets set on her fateful path to become… Zombie Tramp! This is a remastered reprinting of the first series that was never before released in single issues to the direct market.

Ever since I saw this announced in Previews, I have been eagerly awaiting its release. Like the summary points out, unless you’re one of the extremely lucky few to own the original, it hasn’t been possible to read. Finally, the general public will get to see what started it all beginning with Zombie Tramp Origins issue one.

Before she was Zombie Tramp, Janey Belle was once the top dollar number one call girl of Hollywood. When the madame that saved her from the streets is arrested, a deal is made with the sheriff for one night with Janey. It’s not all she expected though, as she learns his undead son was to finish her off afterwards and barely escapes after being bitten. Meanwhile, a prisoner transfer goes awry, and we see an early appearance of Xula (I think?)

It’s pretty great to have this chance to see early artwork of creator Dan Mendoza. While it has been polished up a bit, the style even then was just like we get now. It’s risque at times, it’s gory at times, but it’s great at all times.

I couldn’t be happier that we’re getting a chance to read the story for these highly coveted books virtually nobody has seen. Everyone loves getting the origin story of their favorite characters and Zombie Tramp is high on that list. You’ll probably never get your hands on the originals, so make sure you do with this release.
