The Trials and Tribulations of Miss Tilney

Writer: Duke David Doub

Artist: Marchioness Sarah Elkins

Letterer: Vizcondesa Joamette Gil

Publisher: Dusk Comics

Synopsis: Continuing from Vol. 1, the question must be, “Did Miss Tilney survive?” Of course! Otherwise, The Trials and Tribulations of Miss Tilney would have ended with Vol. 1 and we wouldn’t be here.  That’s as far as spoilers go here. She survived and the adventures continue with Lord Beowulf  Harwood.  We now take a visit to the theatre and what happened to the white tiger after its attack on Miss Tilney? Take a peek for more mayhem, mystery, and murder.

Review: Perhaps I have a slight bias. Miss Tilney being shown as a strong woman AND a writer during the Victorian era continues to thrill me to no end. Mix that with Sherlock Holmes kind of mystery with a bit of flirtatious banter building up between Miss Tilney and Lord Harwood, and I am obviously going to love it. The artwork continues to capture the era and has depth that makes the characters’ features come alive. There were a few moments when I became a little puzzled about what was going on in the story and had to reread, but the story itself continues to steal my heart and attention.

If it isn’t obvious, I give The Trials and Tribulations of Miss Tilney Vol. 2 a solid 5 stars.
