Synopsis: Lazio Cale is a former high class gigolo who has made an attempt to turn his life around by becoming a high end art dealer. In a futuristic Paris, he has learned to take advantage of the portals of interdimensional time travel that have become a part of every day life. This becomes an issue only when it becomes his mission to find out who stole a painting from a local gangster.
Review: In a futuristic world, Lazio Cale is everyone’s man. He keeps himself safe from toxins he may encounter with the aid of an electronic device he must keep on his arm. With his past and the time portals running throughout Paris, he never knows when he may run into a possibility for mishap. This is why he not only uses devices to keep safe, but has a backup team.
One thing is for sure, Lazlo Cale is a charmer. If you are a fan of watching Archer or similar Adult Swim cartoons, then you will love Lazlo. It is filled with adventure, clever lines, and sexuality. The artwork is colorful, high resolution that comes to life. The historic and cultural references are at times unexpected and fun. Who would expect that Edgar Allen Poe is really a notorious gang leader using the portals to cause trouble in Paris? If this is your cup of tea, you will love this Andrew Maxwell original.
I give this comic 3 out of 5 Stars.
