Kickstarter/Indiegogo of the Week: Belial #2

Belial is a 32 page action adventure hell comedy about the original creator of Hell. Lucifer has taken his domain from him, and after centuries of wasting away in a crummy bar he’s had enough! Now, with his impish cohort Linc and bar manager/former general Mammon, he seeks to take his powers back from the Four Horsemen and usurp Lucifer to once more be the ruler of all Hell!

Co-created by Shaun Barbour and Chuck Pineau this is more than just a comedic take on Hell. This is a chance for both creators to bring their sense of fun to comics, to temporarily ignore the shitstorm that is our world right now, and just laugh and enjoy.

If you read my review the other day, you’ll know that I very much enjoyed Issue #1 and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on Issue #2...

Belial #1

Belial #1

Follow along as Belial sets out to reclaim what was rightfully his! Belial’s power, throne, and claim to Hell have been stolen by none other than Lucifer himself. Over the centuries, Hell has become a shadow of its former Glory. It has fallen from Belial’s structure, vision, legendary depiction, and epitome of everything you’ve come to know of the Palace of the Judged. Now Hell is nothing more than a run-down pit of despair, and Belial has had enough! This is the story of a once powerful ruler, that finds himself up against epic odds. He must fight his way back to the throne. He will face off against the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and Lucifer himself to do so. He’s not alone in the underdog power struggle, as Belial has retained some loyal followers...

Kickstarter/Indigogo of the Week: Ultimate Articulated Cardboard Comic Book Action Cut-Outs

Every now and then something new and exciting crosses my desk. With my recent review of Muffenman #1 came another really cool Kickstarter project that includes Muffenman and many –MANY– more great characters. The campaign for the Ultimate Articulated Cardboard Comic Book Action Cut-Outs is chalked full of some legendary indie comic characters, in a medium that you’ll likely not see anywhere else. As the title implies, these characters have been turned into fully articulated cardboard cutouts, mounted on magnetic backings. What that means is you can turn your refrigerator into an indie-hero battleground of epic proportions.

Kickstarter/Indiegogo of the Week: New Bristol.

To a broad segment of the RPG world, one of the largest and most popular systems is Savage Worlds. Over the years I’ve seen a ton of games built around the Savage Worlds engine, but I’ve simply never had the time or opportunity to dig into it. As a result, I see the logo and just pass by. That is in no way a negative judgment, simply reality of our limited and linear time. The reason I bring that up is to frame where I’m coming from in this Spotlight. I didn’t come across it via the Savage Worlds community, but rather from Endless Realms, which I’ve reviewed in some detail...

Kickstarter/Indiegogo of the Week: The Muffenman #1

Do you know the Muffenman? You might think you do, but you probably don’t. But you want to, trust me. I’ve been ridiculously excited for this comic since I first encountered him as a preview in another Limitless Comics book. This spotlight will be short and sweet, so that you can spend more time hitting up the campaign page!

The Muffenman’s unique and monstrous design sends my mind into all sorts of crazy places. Man-Thing, Swamp-Thing, Sleepwalker, 1980’s “concerned parent” vision of TMNT, The Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak (a-ra-ta-ta-ta-tata-ta-tatata… STOP no, sorry. Train-of-thought went a bit off the rails there.)

Anyyyyyyyhow, The main protagonist is a creature who has lived in the sewers underneath Boston’s historic North End for decades...
