Indiegogo Spotlight: Paperstreet Publishing Jump Start!

Indiegogo Spotlight - Geek-o-Rama

Scott ‘Doc’ Vaughn has teamed up with Mike DeBalfo to create PAPERSTREET ENTERTAINMENT, LLC (Paperstreetent.com) to publish their ideas and art as comics, books and more! They’ve been drawing comic books and illustrations for years and are excited as vampires at a slumber party to bring their own ideas to the forefront and begin a new publishing company! Among their initial launch material are the novels that Scott has written over the years (including the popular WARBIRDS OF MARS) which Paperstreet will finally publish as well as new works they have in-production. It’s an amazing opportunity for them to get their personal works completed at last and to publish the projects they’re passionate about...

Kickstarter of the Week: Ursa Minor

Ursa Minor - Big Dog Ink

A long, long time ago, I was a major supporter of BDI and the books that they were putting out. Then, due to circumstances, we split ways and I confess to losing track of what was happening with them. Now, they’re back and they’re back in a big way. They’re bringing back one of my favorite stories with an all new 40 page special edition written by none other than Dirk Manning himself. Dirk has a reputation for doing horror and for doing it well. I’m looking forward to seeing what he does with my favorite werebear and everyone that surrounds her. Big Dog Ink always puts out high quality books with great stories and I know that this one isn’t going to be any different than their other works.

If you’d like to check it out for yourselves, and I really do think you should, head over to their...

Kickstarter/Indiegogo Spotlight: The Can Game

Kickstarter Spotlight - Geek-O-Rama - Can Game

What is the Can game?

Trick shot your way to the top! The Can game is an addictive, trick shot based family/party game that is sure to bring out your competitive side! The game itself is small enough to be played anywhere, by almost any age! Trick shots are just plain fun and rewarding to make. We wanted to create a simple, family friendly game that combines basketball with elements of beer pong and horseshoes. With other card and dice based games. We used coins, because they can be gathered up easily and the different weight and size of the coins makes for an interesting challenge. The funds from this Kickstarter campaign will fund the design work, cans and production of the card’s, dice and labels as well as packaging materials.

Thanks for taking at what looks to be a really fun kicks...

Kickstarter/Indiegogo Spotlight: Touching Evil Vol. 2

Kickstarter Spotlight - Geek-O-Rama - Touching Evil Comic

For those new to this award-winning supernatural thriller, the premise is simple: there is a curse that grants its bearers immortality and the power to kill people with a mere touch of the hand…if the person is evil. Sounds great, except for one little catch: the souls you kill live on in a prison inside your head. As if that wasn’t bad enough, what if the person you kill happens to be someone you care about? And what defines evil anyway?

In volume one we followed Ada Mansfield: a single mom and hard working attorney who stumbled upon the curse and had her whole life turned upside down as she learned who her friends and enemies were…the hard way.  Now in volume two she discovers there may be someone who can break the curse once and for all, but it comes at a price...

Why are we spotlighting a book that’s already funded and so close to completion? Because we love the message of this book. Because we love that the creators believe in it so much that they donated copies of issue #0 to charity. Because it’s awesome, even if they did use dialog instead of dialogue in their write up. (Personal pet peeve, don’t hold it against them....
