I could be faulted for constantly harping on Zenescope’s Babe-addiction, so I’ll give it a rest this time. Instead I’ll just point out the other absurdities in this title.

To totally put it out there, I’ve been a lot more out of the loop on the vastly expanded Zenescope universe than I was a few years ago. One issue…five action packed stories…no ads!  With 30 pages of action spotlighting the best known characters from the Grimm Universe, this is a great intro to the most popular Zenescope titles and characters. A great jumping on point for new readers, and a super value for current fans.

Zenescope’s obsession with flesh-baring, fairytale-inspired heroines is naturally polarizing: you can view these fighting femmes as either badass take-charge types that modern comics needs, or exploitative Barbie dolls used to move product. This reviewer holds the latter opinion. Not that I’m necessarily against flesh-baring, badass heroines per se; but in Zenescope’s clumsy mitts, the whole thing comes off as insulting.
