Arsenic Lullaby

Arsenic Lullaby is a collection of despicable stories for cynical jerks and weirdo’s. Don’t let the award nominations, and critical acclaim fool you…this is not some high brow artsy book. It is a very well done, well crafted and expertly illustrated, but it is NOT for everyone. It is for people with a very dark sense of humor.

There’s no doubt that this ashcan is definitely for those who can appreciate a very specific kind of comedy. So if you have a very open sense of humor, The Big Stall  is right up your alley.  This book is full of comic shorts that do a great job of hitting you with unexpected, and darkly amusing twists.  There’s also a couple longer comics included, which yet again, keep you going until right at the end and hit you hard.

Destiny of the Dragon: The Daughters of Merlin #4

The daughters successfully find Avalon and Merlin tasks them with rebuilding the Knights of the Round Table. Before their quest can begin, however, the dragons reveal where they have been hiding all these centuries. Hiding in the form of humans! Using time travel as a weapon, Mina and Breeta are transported to some distant future where they meet a Dragon rider by the name of Cyneska but is she friend or foe?

The Good
Knowing this was the final part of the 4 part series, I expected to get good things and I was certainly pleased with Daughters of Merlin 4.  The story was continued in the same intriguing manner and gave us more fun writing to enjoy.  The scenery was beautifully done, and served as a wonderful backdrop for all the gorgeous battle with both spell and steel.

Reno Sanders is a simple man with a wife and kid trying to live an ordinary life on his land outside of Ralton City, even though his life has taken a turn for the unordinary.

On a sunny spring day in 1987, Reno Sanders is enjoying a day at the mall with his wife and daughter. Mangus, the devil-man of local legend, is on the hunt for Reno to tell him about a strange new world that he’s unknowingly a part of due to the mysterious object that attached itself to his chest when he was a teenager. Being the quick-to-anger type that he is, Reno of course mistakes Mangus’ intentions at first.

But what follows will be tales of unimaginable heights as Reno tries to balance his professional and family life with that of his new friend Mangus.
