Star Trek/Doctor Who #1-5

The two greatest science-fiction properties of all time cross over for the first time in history! When the Federation’s most terrifying enemy strikes an unholy alliance with one of the Doctor’s most hated antagonists, the result is devastation on a cosmic scale! Spanning the ends of space and time itself, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise find themselves joining forces with the time-travelling Doctor and his companions, with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance!

The Good
The Crossover/history – I’m not a Star Trek fan, probably never will be, but even I got excited when I 1st heard about this almost 9 months ago.  For avid SciFi fans, the idea of this crossover is close to epic.

With each having been around for such a long time, it is hard to believe t...

The Time of Reflection Kickstarter

At the London MCM Expo’s Eagle Award ceremony in May, Alex Wilson and Silvio dB won The Huntsman’s Challenge, an international talent search co-sponsored by the Universal Pictures film Snow White and the Huntsman and the MCM Expos.

Their winning full color dark fantasy story “The Time of Reflection” appeared in the convention program, and on September 23 they launched a Kickstarter both to reprint the story and to encourage experimentation between the strictly crowdfunding and strictly retail models of comics delivery.

Their big idea is that for any pledge $3 or higher, Wilson sends the comic to the backer as well as to a local comic shop or other independently owned retail bookseller of the backer’s choice. In under eight hours, the Kickstarter reached full funding...

Con Recap: Wizard World Ohio Part 2

When last we met to talk about this con, it was Friday night and I was zonked out in the hotel room. At least I think that’s where we left off. If it’s not just go with it. That way we can talk all about Saturday!

Since I had covered most of the con floor on Friday, I decided to be lazy and sleep in on Saturday. In reality, I tried to. The hotel cleaning crew had other ideas. While they respected the Do Not Disturb sign on my door by not coming into the room, they didn’t grasp the concept that sweeping the hall outside my door and the rooms on either side of me might be disturbing. In the end, I gave up and headed back down to the con.

This time, however, my little lot was full. So, I tried following the signs for the convention center parking. That didn’t go so well...
