THE STORY: I really like the story here this is from the writer of CHEW by Image Comics which is personally one of my favorite stories. I happened to have already read issue one and I realize that’s a bit of an advantage because nothing story wise is explained in this issue...

MARTIAN MANHUNTER #1

Written by Steve Orlando

Art by Riley Rossmo

Colours by Ivan Plascencia

Letters by Deron Bennett

THE DEAL: Justice League legend J’onn J’onnz has returned to the DC Universe! Black Hammer – Cthu-Louise

Story – Jeff Lemire

Art – Emi Lenox

Colors – Dave Stewart

Letters – Todd Klein

The story is about a little girl who is half human half the Lovecraftian creature Cthulhu, and her plight dealing with the other “normal” students in her school.

I absolutely LOVE this book the writing is fantastic, Lemire paints a beautiful picture of teenage angst and pain through the eyes of this little monster girl. It is a fantastic allegory about being happy with who you are in life and appreciating where you come from.

The art by Emi Lenox is very good, it is very cart...
