The Black Sinister

A pitch-black tale of a city that lives in fear—not of crime or gangs, but the billionaire vigilante sworn to protect them.

Emerson Black’s superhero identity is no secret: patrolling the night skies as the Black Sinister, he enforces his own brand of psychotic justice, no matter the cost. Joined by his unhinged butler Danby, Emerson protects the citizens of Coal City from kidnappers, gangs, and jaywalkers alike. But who will protect the city from the Black Sinister? And what happens when the mayor hatches a plan to finally rid Coal City of its deranged antihero?

Compared to a lot of hardcore comic fans, I can’t say that I read a lot of comics, but I do read a good amount. From time to time there’s going to be a comic you aren’t a fan of, but could be great for others...

Vampblade Season 2 #4

Vampblade and friends must gear up just to survive, now that SoCal Comic Con has turned into a real… Con of the Dead! It’s two comic geeks and one silver-shiny warrior-woman versus 125,000 vamped-out fanboys (and fangirls)!

Well, that certainly escalated quickly, not that I should be shocked or anything. And by that I mean the chaos that SoCal Comic Con has turned into with space vamps everywhere. It wouldn’t be a con worthy of the Vampblade in issue four of the second season without some slaying though would it?

Along with her coworkers/friends in tow, Katie (although she’s not in control) continues to rip through the daywalker TSDs. Borrowing the Batmobile, they head to a nearby hotel to kill even more, not knowing it was a trap all along...

Spencer & Locke #3

S.O.S.! S.O.S.! Beaten, drugged and left for dead, things are looking bad for Locke—but unfortunately for his captors, Locke isn’t here anymore. Get ready for a night of psychedelic terror and homicidal violence as Rocketman Reynolds makes his daring escape from Planet X!

Whatever you do, try not to let the somewhat confusing summary of this issue get in the way. Believe me, it makes all the sense in the world when you’re reading it and it’s quite fantastic. Pretty much everything up to and including the third issue of Spencer & Locke has been, so it’s only natural it would continue.

Waking up and finding himself the experiment of a mad doctor, Locke nearly dies but instead begins a drug induced escape adventure...

Sons of Anarchy: Redwood Original Vol. 1

Writer Ollie Masters (Snow Blind, The Kitchen) and artist Luca Pizzari (Secret Wars Journal, Amazing Spider-Man) journey 10 years before Season 1 of Kurt Sutter’s critically acclaimed television series Sons of Anarchy to tell the never-before-seen, official story of Jax Teller’s first year as a SAMCRO prospect. Jax Teller has always had one dream: to follow the family legacy and join the Sons of Anarchy. But at eighteen, still reeling from his father’s death and just starting out as a prospect, Jax is about to discover just how hard the life of an outlaw can be.

Like a lot of the shows I end up watching, I got into Sons of Anarchy very late in the game. Once I did though, I super power watched it and caught up in no time...
