Shahrazad #5

We continue on with my quest to catch back up with this great series (much to my shame). I’m sure there are many out there who have never even read it to begin with, so I don’t feel too bad. As you’ll see in the fifth issue of Shahrazad, it will prove well worth getting into no matter how late in the game.

The three Sirens are pissed off and after summoning a rainstorm to fill the coliseum, they enter and begin to exact their revenge. This even includes their all powerful master Janus, who with all his powers never saw it coming. Amid all the chaos and death, Shahrazad is spared and lives on to continue telling story after story to us, the reader.

To say that the artwork in this issue was absolutely breathtaking is an understatement. The pencils and colors have always been awesome, but this more than took the top prize. I was also really impressed with the way some of the pages were laid out, easily some of the coolest views yet.

I was really interested in this title from the get go, and as time went on just kept liking it more. This final book in the first volume completely solidified my love for the series. If you are looking for a great series to get into and have missed this one, do yourself a favor and seek it out immediately.
