Synopsis: Single Father Gil Stark takes his son Kadyn on a cargo mission. But instead of a routine flight, they are doomed to suffer a heartbreaking shipwreck ending with sweet Kadyn being ejected into space.

Fleeing from a space monster, he ends up the lone human on an asteroid.

It’s two stories with different points of view sandwiched well together. Almost ever other page is Kadyn dealing with the loss of his mother, boredom, and worst of all—no cell signal for his games. We get to share his awe as everything in space is new.

The second story about Gil’s desperate attempt to save Kadyn is punctuated by duck tape in space! Gil Stark will do anything to save his son. Trouble is, they are floating in space.

The design of this book rounds out a lovely package by incorporating elements of ocean visuals. Well-done!

Complete with a marine theme, this is a great summer read. And a must-read.

I give Sea of Stars #1 4 star farts of 5.
