Princeless: Be Yourself #3

Adrienne and Bedelia are finally ready to go rescue Angoisse with the help of their new goblin guide. Now all that stands between them and Angoisse’s castle is a river full of the most dangerous, vile, and deadly creatures in the swamp…and zombies…don’t forget the zombies. Meanwhile, Sparky is off to find and subdue the terrible swamp creature who has been hunting down goblins, The Grimmorax!

Goblins and zombies and monsters, oh my? No no, wrong fiction, sorry. There are all of those things of course, but they can do without the parody opening. The third issue of Princeless: Be Yourself has more than enough laughs without me trying to add in my own.

We begin this chapter seeing Sparky and her new goblin friends try to take down the fearsome swamp monster Grimmorax, who ends up not being all it seems. While this is going on, the girls and their goblin tour guide make their way into that same swamp, naturally having to face off against countless baddies including a horde of zombies. Once they finally make their way past that to rescue Angoisse, but it appears she is not in need of it. In fact, she appears quite content and actually may end up causing more trouble for Adrienne.

The artwork for this issue was really quite wonderful in how expansive it was with everything going on. Plenty of monsters and some cool looking action including Bedelia kicking ass with her hammer were just a part of another good looking book. Plus, Angoisse’s design was particularly appealing in my opinion, but maybe that’s just me.

I really adore this series, as I’ve constantly made very loudly public knowledge. There’s never a lack of good story, comical breaks and lovely artwork in this title. By now, you should know this as well and if not, snatch up every book and catch up right away.
