In their quest to save Adrienne’s sister Angoisse from the Grimmorium Swamp, Adrienne and Bedelia have been trapped and captured by the nefarious goblins. What do the goblins want with them…and what happened to Sparky after they crashed in the swamp? Plus, Adrienne’s brother Devin sets out on a quest of his own!
I’m not sure how many ways that I can possibly say how much I enjoy this series. Every time I open up a new issue, side story or ongoing, I’m always pleased that I could read it. Moving into the second issue of Volume 4 for Princeless, that is still certainly the case.
Adrienne and Bedelia find themselves at the mercy of a troop of goblins who are eager to begin their massacre. Well, not massacre exactly, as it turns out they meant to say the word masquerade. This ends up being a way to get the girls to deal with their swamp monster problem, but lucky for them, Sparky shows up just in time to help out. In the mean time, Devin and his unexpected companion (more lucky bodyguard) prepare to set off in search of his mother.
This was a fun issue for art, especially when it came to all the scenes in the swamp and the monster face off. While their wasn’t a whole ton of action, any places that had some were drawn as nicely as always. I can’t recall any artwork for Princeless yet that I despised, and I’m sure I never will.
As I’ve always made more than evident, I am a huge fan of Princeless and continue to love it every month. There’s always great artwork with so many artists, and the story keeps a good balance between fun and serious. With volume four in full swing, you really should get out there and grab every issue out so far.
