Limerence Press Announces ‘A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns’

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PORTLAND, OR., November 15, 2017—Limerence Press, an imprint of Oni Press, invites everyone to learn more about gender neutral pronouns and why they’re important! A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns, written by Archie Bongiovanni and Tristan Jimerson, with art by Archie Bongiovanni, is an educational comic guide for using they/them pronouns properly in everyday situations, and also includes resources for folks who use they/them pronouns themselves.

Archie, a snarky genderqueer artist, is tired of people not understanding gender neutral pronouns. Tristan, a cisgender dude, is looking for an easy way to introduce gender neutral pronouns to his increasingly diverse workplace. The longtime best friends team up in this short and fun comic guide that explains what pronouns are, why they matter, and how to use them. They also include what to do if you make a mistake, and some tips-and-tricks for those who identify outside of the binary to keep themselves safe in this binary-focused world. While the book focuses on they/them pronouns specifically, they hope that people find the lessons presented are applicable to other pronouns as well.

“Not everyone has the time to explain how/why/huh of gender neutral pronouns,” said Archie Bongiovanni. “So we wrote a very approachable comic that helps explain the how/why/huh in addition to a few practical tips for cisgender and non-binary folks as well. We wanted to create a useful (but fun) reference that can be passed on to family, friends, co-workers, your boss, and strangers alike.”

“It’s important to have a way to introduce all people to gender neutral pronouns. I hope that this book can do that,” said Tristan Jimerson. “We live in a world where gender neutral language is becoming much more commonplace. This book is great as an introduction to someone unfamiliar with the concept.”

“Archie and Tristan have created an excellent resource that’s funny, easy to understand, and full of actions people can do to make their workplaces and personal lives more inclusive,” said Ari Yarwood, head of Limerence Press. “It’s a book we feel is important, and we’re very proud to be able to publish it.”

A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns, a black and white softcover comic, is slated for release June 13, 2018. For further press queries, please contact Oni Press PR Manager, Melissa Meszaros: melissa@onipress.com.
