Kickstarter/Indiegogo of the Week: The Muffenman #1

Do you know the Muffenman? You might think you do, but you probably don’t. But you want to, trust me. I’ve been ridiculously excited for this comic since I first encountered him as a preview in another Limitless Comics book. This spotlight will be short and sweet, so that you can spend more time hitting up the campaign page!

The Muffenman’s unique and monstrous design sends my mind into all sorts of crazy places. Man-Thing, Swamp-Thing, Sleepwalker, 1980’s “concerned parent” vision of TMNT, The Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak (a-ra-ta-ta-ta-tata-ta-tatata… STOP no, sorry. Train-of-thought went a bit off the rails there.)

Anyyyyyyyhow, The main protagonist is a creature who has lived in the sewers underneath Boston’s historic North End for decades. This action/horror book marks the second title from Limitless Comics after six issues in its Realmz universe. Not much has been revealed about the plot, but preview pages on the campaign page look great!

Pledge levels start at $5 (USD) for the digital edition of the book, with Physical editions starting at $10. From there the pledge levels increase with the addition of several 8.5×11 pinup posters, variant covers, and additional art from the likes of DC cover artist Rudy Ao.

The comic is basically finished, and the digital rewards should be going out immediately after Kickstarter releases the funds. Almost the entirety of this campaign funding is going to printing and fulfilment costs, so it’s a pretty safe bet that it will arrive on time even amidst the current pandemic concerns.

You can back The Muffenman #1 on Kickstarter until March 31, 2020.
