The claws of justice are BACK! Midnight is forced to deal with the fallout of a prison break at the Taurus County Jail. Can Midnight corral the criminals so Stellar City can sleep safe and sound? With the help of fellow Hero Cat, Cassiopeia, they might just have a chance!
Hey look at that, he’s back! In black! (Sorry, that was just too good to pass up). In all seriousness though, while I can’t say I have a favorite Hero Cat, Midnight is certainly awesome. He’s so awesome that we now have the first issue of Hero Cats: Midnight Over Stellar City returning for a second volume.
When a prison break occurs involving above average villains, it’s up to Midnight to track them down. With Cassiopeia’s ability to read, she gathers names of villains from Cosmic Girl’s diary for Midnight to aid his search. He manages to find and deal with the first pair easily, but the two cats may be dealing with their next target sooner than expected.
As is only proper for continuing Midnight’s spinoff series, we see the same style used as volume one. It’s still a very shadowed look overall throughout the book. There is more color here than we saw in the first three issues, but retains the darker feel.
I knew Midnight would be back for more solo action, although now he’s got Cassie’s help this time. With this getting another round, I’m still curious if any other spinoffs may happen. In the mean time, we can keep enjoying this one along with the core series.
