Synopsis: Wind-a new commander of The Blue, emerges to lead her people from the ashes of Anika’s destructive attack on the capitol city of Muria. However, the city receives two new powerful visitors-Aspen and Kiani! Meanwhile, Anika continues her warpath deeper into the depths, as she arrives at the secret realm of the world’s most deadly beings-The Black!
The Black, the Blue… Sounds like Swamp Thing in there. This issue shows a little pain resulting from being a six issue mini-series. The first part of the book is exposition and relies on your perfect recall of everything in the Fathom universe. And…well, sorry, Vince, but yawn. It balances out by the unexpected involvement of the Black at the end.
Pencils and colors were very good with what the story gives us. Fathom is trying to show itself to be a story of intrigue but the swimsuit action series it has been is not compatible.
Continue buying it. It’s moving the story, just not living up to the previous issue. I am giving it 3 stars of 5.
Find it in your local comic shop or go online.
