We’ve all had our share of secrets, some much bigger and harder to keep than others. Now just think about what it might be like have a secret such as a superhero’s identity. Although they’re not superpowered, the friends we seen in issue nine of Faith are heroes nonetheless.
Ever since Faith’s coworkers at her day job learned her true identity, they’ve done well keeping it under wraps. With a new intern arriving and crimes to still stop, their work is definitely cut out for them. Even after this new threat to the secret nearly exposes it, the tight group of employees manage to protect their friend’s secret.
Not every superhero comic is going to be filled to the brim with endless action as we see here. That aside though, the artwork never fails to hold up even without intense fights or powers everywhere. The art and story can and should be equal partners and they prove that ability with this series.
This little break in the story arcs was a nice solo issue that didn’t necessarily focus on Faith. While we may not have as much attachment to the secondary characters, they got a chance to shine more for once. I’m guessing we’ll go back to the regular pace of things next, but until then you can enjoy this latest piece of series.
