Conan Red Sonja 2

Conan and Red Sonja unite to stop a sorcerer-priest from creating a new age in Hyborian warfare! Exposed to a deadly toxin, barbarian and she-devil race against time to save themselves!

It took me long enough, but I finally have taken the time to read at least a couple books featuring two well known characters.  I probably won’t squeeze in some of the many older titles that have come out over the years, but who knows.  Either way, with the second issue of Conan Red Sonja done, I can say that I’ve got two issues notched off for adventures with these two.

The second chapter starts off with a high seas clash, with Conan and Red Sonja unknowingly attacking each other’s ships.  It’s apparently been a few years since their last meeting, and have spent that time with new companions.  The group soon finds themselves coming across an island full of nothing but death, the cause being what was discovered at the end of issue one.  They face of against the foe responsible, but are of course unable to stop him completely.

A lot more happens in this book, with a lot more room to expand on what got illustrated within.  There was a great deal more of beautiful artwork, between all the new characters and the new environments depicted.  Even more so than in the last book, I really dig the way everything was drawn here.

As much as I regret never reading any Conan or Red Sonja before, this is a great way to get into them.  I can’t say for sure how this would fare with long time fans of either or both, but it seems like a great series for everyone.  I would definitely like to see more of this story and would gladly suggest this new title to people.
