After exposing a traitor with designs on toppling the Elite Blue Council, Aspen and Tyler are taken hostage! Meanwhile, the deadly Typhos – once rudderless and erratic – are invigorated with new purpose: overthrow the Blue capitol city of Muria!
The more of this title I get the chance to read, the more I wish I had kept up with previous content. Luckily, this newest volume is a pretty good place to get back in without feeling totally lost. Hopefully, I can keep up with this one better continuing on with issue five of Fathom.
Having been captured by the traitorous Cannon, Aspen and Tyler are at his mercy as his plot continues. Or perhaps not, as Aspen’s YooToob video contained a hidden message for her boyfriend, Chance. Like something out of Top Gun, he comes in guns blazing and gives them their chance to escape. Cannon survives and tries to take back control, but Chance made the Council aware and they take Cannon into custody.
Interestingly enough, the impressive powers that Aspen has weren’t the highlight of the art this time. For the most part, it was just a good issue with the high quality of work seen thus far. If there was any particular winner, it would probably be Chance’s throwback to 80’s action scenes.
Obviously, this is not the end of the conflict that Cannon decided to initiate across the world. The living weapons that are the Typhos are bound to make a big mess, with or without him. It’s still fairly early on, so you won’t have far to go if you grab all the issues and catch up now.
